The following information is provided by the Casualty Office of the American Legion Post 123 on Tuesday, Sep 8, 2020:

Final Approval by ABMC and CFZ has been received for the Burial of Fallen Comrade:

Case # 20-65 Alan Wayne Nicholson, U.S. Army Veteran, age 70, is approved for rendering of Military Honors followed by Inurnment Burial on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at 10 AM at Clark Veterans Cemetery (CVC), CFZ, Angeles City.

BURIALS AT CLARK VETERANS CEMETERY, CLARK FREEPORT  ZONE IN ANGELES CITY PAMPANGA:

Restrictions for Burial have been lifted for Public Burials as of 6 July 2020. However, the following requirements are required by ABMC and VA for All Interment and Inurnment Burials:

*No more than Twenty-Five Family Members may attend

*All Attendees Must Maintain the Required Social Distancing

*All Attendees Must Wear Face Mask

*All Military Honors will be held at Gate 1 Area of Clark Veterans Cemetery at Clark Freeport Zone in Angeles City.

*Parking for the Services will be at Gate 2 Parking Area at  Clark Veterans Cemetery at Clark Freeport Zone in Angeles City

Pending Approval by ABMC / CFZ for the Fallen Comrade 

Case # 20-66 Gary Lee Knowlton, CWO-4, U.S. Navy Retired, age 66, a resident of Bulacan, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2020 at The Medical City, Clark. Funeral arrangements called for his direct cremation September 6, 2020 at Angeles City Public Cemetery Crematorium, Sapalibutad in Angeles City. Pending approval by ABMC / CFZ, he will be laid to rest on Thursday,  September 10, 2020 at 10 AM with rendering of Military Honors and the Fleet Reserve Association 2-Bell Ceremony followed by an Inurnment Burial at CVC.

THE FOLLOWING BURIALS OR REQUEST FOR MILITARY HONORS ARE BEING PREPARED FOR SUBMISSION for Final Approval TO  ABMC and CFZ FOR THE FOLLOWING FALLEN COMRADES:  

Case # 20-IC-25 Michael John Ansell, 1LT, U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, Recipient of the Silver Star, Bronze Star, and Purple Heart, age 72, a resident of Tacloban City, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at his residence. Upon the completion of the transfer paperwork in Tacloban and transfer to Angeles City, he will be laid to rest at CVC with rendering of Military Honors and the Marine Corp Eulogy given by the Leathernecks Philippines followed by  Interment Burial. Date to be announced.

Case # 20-IC-21 Floyd Henry Clingenpeel, U.S. Navy Veteran,  Vietnam Veteran, age 70 passed away on August 9, 2020 at his residence in Bacolod City. His direct cremation was held at the Rolling Hills Memorial Chapels, Bacolod City. Burial arrangements are still pending.

BURIAL IN THE UNITED STATES:

Case # 20-64 William Paul Ward, MSgt, U.S. Air Force Retired, age 83 passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at The Medical City, Clark. Upon the arrival of his daughter, he was cremated on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at La Pieta Crematorium in Angeles City. Upon repatriation to the United States, he will have a Columbarium (Urn) Burial with Full Military Honors at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas.

Case # 20-60 Clyde Franklin Hovatter, WO-4, U.S. Navy Retired, age 77 passed away at the AUF Medical Center, Angeles City on Friday  July 31, 2020. Upon receipt of the LOA, he was cremated on August 21, 2020. Upon repatriation to the United States, he will have a Columbarium (Urn) Burial with Full Military Honors at Jacksonville National Cemetery, Jacksonville, Florida.

Due to the Current Travel Restrictions imposed regarding COVID-19, repatriation has been delayed to the Philippines and will be scheduled upon the arrival of the fallen Comrade once Travel and Local restrictions are lifted:

Case # 20-IC-16 Archie (Indy) Turner, U.S. Army Veteran, Recipient of the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart & Combat Infantry Badge, age 75 who passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at the Hospice of the Valley, Eckstein Center in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Direct Cremation was at the Angels Crematorium and Burial in Mesa, Arizona.

MILITARY HONORS AT CLARK VETERANS CEMETERY OR IN A LOCAL CEMETERY IN THE PHILIPPINES:

The Rendering of Military Honors will be held at a later date for the Following Fallen Comrade:

Case # 20-IC-17 Bruce Dimitri Tunsil, CMSgt, U.S. Air Force Retired, age 66 who passed away Thursday, April 9, 2020 at Manila Doctors Hospital, in Ermita Manila, Philippines. He was laid to rest at St. Therese Columbarium (Urn) in Manila on May 6, 2020.

Case # 20-IC-18 David Charles Levenduskey, SSgt, U.S. Army Reserve / U.S. Navy Retired, age 63 who passed away Friday, May 8, 2020 at The Dr. Pablo O Torre Memorial Hospital, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, Philippines. He was laid to rest under Philippine Health Guidelines with an Interment Burial at the Bacolod Roman Catholic Cemetery, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, Philippines on Wednesday, May 13, 2020,

Case # 20-IC-19 Donald Keith Holcomb, MSgt, U.S. Air Force Retired age 87 passed away on Monday, June 22, 2020 at

Remedios Trinidad Romualdez Hospital, Calanipawan, Tacloban City, Leyte, Philippines. He was laid to rest at Leyte Memorial Park Tacloban City. 

Case # 20-36 Alan Longno Talahuron, PO-2, U.S. Navy (Marine Corps Corpsman) Retired age 45 who passed away on Sunday,  March 29, 2020 at St Luke’s Medical Center in Quezon City after a brief illness. He was transferred to Angeles City & an Interment Burial was held at CVC on Friday, June 19, 2020.

Case # 20-IC-21 Peter Frank Carroll, U.S. Army Veteran, Gulf War Era Veteran, Age 48 passed away March 19, 2020 at the Chuba Tukuakukai Hospital, Higa Kitanakagusuku, Nakagami-Gun, Okinawa, Japan. He was directly cremated at the Okinawa Sosaijo, Okinawa City. Due to the Current Travel Restrictions imposed regarding COVID-19, repatriation has been delayed to the Philippines from Higa Kitanakagusuku, Nakagami-Gun, Okinawa

and he will be scheduled for an Inurnment Burial at CVC, where his Father is also currently laid to rest.
